Families from Wiltshire and beyond – along with skiers and snowboarders of every level – can get ready for the slopes this winter thanks to the new season of lessons at South Wilts Ski Club.
The state-of-the-art indoor facility near Warminster is open to complete beginners, experienced skiers and everyone in between.

A unique indoor slope in Wiltshire
South Wilts features an infinite slope, where a revolving carpet simulates a real ski run. The speed and incline are fully adjustable, allowing instructors to create the perfect conditions for each learner. Beginners can master the basics of turning and stopping, while seasoned skiers can refine technique, build strength and regain confidence ahead of a trip to the mountains.
The slope was founded by former Dragon’s Den investor and Moonpig founder Nick Jenkins, who wanted to provide a venue where his daughter – and other local skiers – could continue training between holidays. Based at Bapton, between the A36 and A303, the centre is easily accessible for families across Wiltshire and beyond.

Benefits for families

For families planning a ski holiday, the indoor slope is an ideal way to get children prepared before they head to the mountains, helping them build skills and confidence in a safe and supportive environment. Parents can book their own sessions too, making it possible for the whole family to learn or refresh their technique together.
Because each session lasts just 30 minutes and is delivered in a private setting, children stay focused and adults can concentrate on specific areas of improvement. The year-round availability also means lessons can be fitted around busy family schedules.
