Fresh Fringe Family Festival 2026 will bring puppetry, theatre, workshops and creative family fun to Bath during the Bath Fringe Festival.



Families across Bath can look forward to a packed programme of imaginative theatre, storytelling, workshops and creative activities as the Fresh Fringe Family Festival returns as part of the Bath Fringe Festival 2026.

Running across May and June, the family-friendly programme will transform Bath Central Library and Komedia into vibrant spaces filled with puppetry, poetry, drama, music and interactive performances designed for children and young people of all ages.

The festival opens on Tuesday 26 May at Bath Central Library with a Drama Workshop for children aged 7–10, featuring improvisation, games and creative play. Young audiences can also enjoy Speedy, a playful puppet story about racing snails and sibling rivalry, with performances later that day.

Families can also join poet and performer John Hegley alongside Suzi Corker for interactive sessions bringing children’s books to life through music, movement and inventive cardboard creations.

Creative workshops continue on Thursday 28 May with Gemma’s Zine Workshop, where children aged 11+ can create their own mini magazines filled with poetry, writing and artwork. Poet Caleb Simon, the former Young Worcestershire Poet Laureate, will also host an interactive spoken word session inspired by science and space.

Nature and creativity come together during Propagate Day on Friday 5 June at Bath Central Library. The free drop-in event will celebrate local gardens, allotments and green spaces through talks, workshops and displays inspired by Bath City Farm and Bath Spa University.

Komedia’s Electric Bar will host another day of family entertainment on Saturday 6 June, beginning with Wiggly Wigglers, a storytelling and puppet adventure for pre-school children.

Families can then experience Solas, an immersive theatre performance combining folklore, live music and visual storytelling, before enjoying Humdinger Words for Whippersnappers & Guttersnipes, a lively comedy-cabaret poetry show packed with fast-paced wordplay and curriculum-inspired fun.

Bath Fringe Festival 2026 runs from Friday 22 May to Sunday 7 June, with printed programmes now available across the city and full event details online.
