Families in the Bath and Keynsham area are being encouraged to get outdoors and explore local parks and open spaces as part of a series of new free trails called Stamp Around.
Stamp Around is being launched in Keynsham Memorial Park on Wednesday 28 March from 2-4pm.
Families can complete three 500 metre stamp trails with prizes for those collecting all the stamp marks on their stamp cards, which can be collected from the registration desk at the bandstand from 2pm.
Alongside the stamp trails, families will be able to make use of all the park facilities and join Bath Area Play Project for spring-themed creative play activities between 2.30 and 4pm.
The Stamp Around project has been created by Bath & North East Somerset Council’s Parks team and the Active Lifestyles team who are encouraging people to reap the benefits of being active outdoors in the area’s parks and green spaces.
There are currently more than 25 orange stampers located in parks across Bath and North East Somerset with a further 25 being installed in new locations during March.
People can collect their local stamp card from the One Stop Shops in Bath, Midsomer Norton or Keynsham. Alternatively, they can download and print their own card from the following web page www.bathnes.gov.uk/playfulparks
The aim of the game is to collect all the stamp marks in your locality. If you share your pictures on social media and tag @fitforlifbanes on facebook or @bathnesparks on twitter, you could win a spot prize.
Some of the stampers are well hidden, so to make it easier, a cheat sheet has been produced with hints around where to look. This can be downloaded from www.bathnes.gov.uk/playfulparks
