Bath Rugby has announced a series of February Half-Term Camps and summer Residentials to offer children across the Bath area the chance to improve their rugby skills.
The half-term camps are hosted by the Bath Rugby Community Team and take place at a number of location across Somerset, Wiltshire and Dorset. Aimed at boys and girls of all abilities from ages U7s – U16s, the camps focus on core sporting skills such as decision making, spatial awareness, agility, catch and pass, hand eye coordination, fitness and more.
The camps encompass both technical and tactical aspects of the game. All activities are fun based, but with a focus on the development of all camp goers, whatever their level.
“The Bath Rugby Camps are a great way for those attending to learn new skills and techniques, aimed at both girls and boys,” explained Tom Giles from Bath Rugby. “Each age group’s coaching is specifically tailored to meet their need and requirements. It’s also a great opportunity for kids to meet their heroes, as members of the first-team help out with these fun-filled sessions!”
The camps cost £60 each and take place –
18-19 February – Oakmedians RFC (Boys & Girls U7s-U12s)
18-19 February – Oakmedians RFC (Boys U13s – U16s)
19-20 February – Trowbridge (Boys & Girls U7s-U12s)
20-21 February – Trowbridge (Boys & Girls U7s-U12s)
20-21 February – The Rec (Boys U13s – U16s)
The Bath Rugby Residential Camps are designed to give young players a chance to experience a week in the life of a Bath Rugby player.
Open to U13s-U16s, these camps will cover group rugby sessions, individual development plans, team building, strength and conditioning, gym safety and technique, recovery, leadership, analysis and nutrition.
In 2019, Bath Rugby is also launching the first girls residential camp at Warminster School.
“If your child dreams of being a professional Rugby player, this is perfect for them, said Tom. “Our Residentials are designed to replicate a week in the life of one of our first-team players! We treat everyone on the camp as one squad and everyone comes away feeling like they have been part of a team for the week.”
The residentials take place –
4-9 August for boys at Bournemouth Collegiate School
4-9 August for boys at Warminster School
13-15 August for girls at Warminster School
