Sixth Form students at the Royal High School Bath are celebrating success in their A Level and IB examinations, with an impressive 87.4% scoring A*- C grades or IB equivalent. A Level mathematics was the most popular subject taken by Royal High School girls, with 59% of grades in this subject achieving an A* or A grade.
This has also been a particularly strong year for STEM subjects, with 15 girls going on to study a wide range of courses including mathematics, chemistry and engineering at leading UK institutions including Imperial College, University College London and King’s College.

Among four students heading to medical school is Laura McNab who, alongside celebrating her 18th birthday today, has gained straight A*s in biology, chemistry and maths having been offered places at all four of her chosen medical schools. Laura will now go on to read Research Medicine at Birmingham University and will enjoy their renowned swimming provision.
Mrs Duncan, Head commented, “I am delighted with the performance of the girls across a wide range of disciplines, we are particularly pleased that 15 of our girls are going on to study STEM subjects, including four to study medicine, at top universities including Imperial College, UCL, and King’s College London.
“Our results once again show how the Royal High School Bath defies gender stereotypes whilst allowing girls to follow their individual interests, which this year include motorsport engineering, computer science and fashion design in Paris.”
