The Pound Arts Centre in Corsham is thrilled to announce its spectacular line-up of events for September to December 2024. Bursting with a huge variety of live shows, films, exhibitions and workshops, everyone and anyone will be sure to find something that will inspire, excite or enrich them at Corsham’s cultural community hub this Autumn.
Melodies & Harmonies
This season features musical heavyweights Martin Simpson, Joachim Cooder, Eleanor McEvoy and Christine Collister, as well as familiar favourites The Rheingans Sisters and Moscow Drug Club, alongside a new programme of classical lunchtime recitals.
Laugh Out Loud
Some of the biggest names in stand-up, including Andy Zaltzman, Harriet Kemseley, Amy Gledhill and Garret Millerick will bring hilarious new shows to Corsham while Paul Foot and Mark Simmons make their triumphant returns. The Avalon Comedy Network is also back with two nights of top-tier talent.
Theatrical Thrills
Don’t miss Rodriguez King-Dorset’s acclaimed one-man-drama The Windrush Secret, Living Spit’s hysterical, historical send-up There’s Something About Typhoid Mary, or chilling festive theatre with Dyad Production’s A Christmas Carol and The Monkey Paw … and more from storyteller Gav Cross.
Dazzling Dance
Experience Lila Dance’s stunning and immersive Fault Lines, featuring dancers from the Pound Ballet Studio, and From The Roof of The World, a breath-taking show performed by Tibetan monks from the Tashi Lhunpo Monastery.
Family Fun
Families can enjoy The Amazing Bubble Man, You Are The Sun by Hurly Burly Theatre, The Museum of Marvellous Things, and festive shows like Filskit Theatre’s Little Robin Red Vest and Father Christmas Storytelling.
Silver Screen Magic
Catch the Oscar-winning animation The Boy and the Heron, a special double-bill and Q&A screening with Wiltshire filmmaker Richard Bazley, screenings of renowned Royal Opera House and Royal Ballet productions, and an Encore Screening of the National Theatre Live smash-hit Prima Facie.
Artful Exhibitions
The Pound’s gallery space will play host to stunning works by Susan Derges, Christopher Bucklow, Bristol photography collective Negative Thinking, and a brand-new exhibition from Pound Arts Open Exhibition winner Joe Jukes.
Discover Creativity
Find your creative outlet with a massive line-up of workshops in stained glass, Sashiko embroidery, bookbinding and large format photography, as well as life drawing and portraiture courses.
Crafts For Kids
Kids can join in a variety of workshops like Painting Peacocks, and Build a Spooky House and Tiny Artist Adventures, while young and aspiring actors can sign up to The Pound Youth Theatre.
