Moorlands Schools Federation is delighted to have once again been recognised as a Thrive Ambassador School. Moorlands has been awarded ‘Excellence in Reparative’, building on the recognition the school received for ‘Excellence in Environment’ earlier this year.
“Excellence in Reparative recognises the work that the school has done to support children who have gaps in their emotional and/or social development, as well as children who may be behind in these areas,” explained Michael Cainen, Assistant Headteacher.
“It’s important to say though that we embrace the Thrive approach as a whole school and that, while the reparative work may support key individuals, our staff use the Thrive approach to support all children across the school.”
Louisa Sellars, Executive Headteacher, added, “We’re extremely grateful for the tireless work of all our staff, and especially our two Thrive practitioners, Zoe Thompson and Charlotte Hansen, who have worked alongside Liz Hebditch, our SENDCo, in providing opportunities for all of the children at Moorlands to benefit from the Thrive programme.
“The school will continue to develop its Thrive programme as it works towards its ambition of becoming a Thrive School of Excellence.
“At Moorlands one of our key priorities is to help the children to feel happy and safe, and this award shows how hard our staff work to do that.”
