Bath Bottled at Museum of Bath at Work

Discover the story of Bath’s bottled drinks industry in a new pop up exhibition from bustling bottling factories to bubbling sacred springs, the exhibition will uncover the history of fizzy drinks manufacture in Bath, the use of spring water, flavourings, marketing and the people behind the products. Explore the entrepreneurial beginnings of local inventors, the working lives of factory employees and conditions in the factories within the area, a brief history of mineral water in soft drink production and its links to Bath’s springs, original and recreated recipes for old-fashioned fizzy drinks, and see how marketing of drinks has changed and developed over the last 100 years. In addition, there will be a hands-on section for younger visitors with interactive activities, a showcase of contemporary label designs.

Included with general museum admission. The museum is closed from November to January and weekends-only in February and March.
