The World Revealed exhibition at BRLSI
Free exhibition featuring a selection of the 150,000 artefacts, specimens and books donated and cared for in our the collections of the Institute. Highlighting key people and events in the Institution’s history to demonstrate how it survived through two centuries. Some items are on show for the first time and will explore the circumstances in which they found their way into the Collection, and what this reveals of the shifts in our scientific, cultural and moral understanding over this period.

A celebration of all things autumnal including pumpkin patch Fur, Fangs, and Feathers scavenger hunt (28 Oct–1 Nov) to explore the zoo, hunt for hidden clues whilst learning all about some fascinating animals and native wildlife. Participants will receive a discount pumpkins purchased from the patch and win a family animal adoption of your choice. There will also be displays with a selection of birds of prey.

Celebrating a journey through the diversity of American landscapes, history and culture in this contemporary, immersive experience, where visitors join in and share their own stories. Through its seasons, nature reminds us of the fragility of life and offers peace and solace from sadness and overwhelm. The interactive nature trail aims allow anyone wishing to find a wellbeing space to reflect in nature, or to find serenity in grief. Take a pause and learn more about the bio-diverse species found in the meadows, do some nature rubbings, view the art installation and explore the site.

Three dancers' shimmy through the audience weaving a tapestry of sticky tape in a tactile dance performance for young children. Tape, stick and groove, to see and feel sound or to be still, watch and listen. Audiences are encouraged to explore freely, choosing how they engage, and turning the rules upside down in this interactive, engaging and colourful performance installation for children and their families. Suitable for ages 3-5 years.

An interactive show for all the family. Grab your compass and join an intrepid explorer across uncharted territories to discover a pre-historic world of astonishing (and remarkably life-like) dinosaurs. Meet a host of impressive creatures, including every child’s favourite flesh-eating giant, the Tyrannosaurus Rex, a Triceratops, Giraffatitan, Microraptor and Segnosaurus! A new Son et Lumiere installation marking the first light and sound installation in the Abbey. The stained-glass windows of the Abbey will be brought to life using light projections and musical compositions highlighting the intricate designs and colours that define these masterpieces and echo the colours and stories once painted across the architecture.

Annual 'Military and Transport' themed model show in this family friendly event. The day will feature IMPS (UK) Modelling Clubs from across the country showcasing military and transport-related models, remote-controlled tank displays, opportunities to buy modelling kits from clubs and trade stands; as well as entry to the Museum and display from the Museum’s own model collection.
