Forest school days in the depths of winter might sound like a chilly step too far, but the leaders of The Paragon’s hugely popular Camp Teepee know otherwise.
Come rain or shine, children have so much fun that they don’t give the weather a second thought. Eight acres of woodland grounds at the school offer different ‘classrooms’ including ‘Bark Wood’ and ‘Outer Mongolia’, which are perfect spaces for learning new skills, developing confidence and having a great time in a safe outdoor environment. Each day, kids make something to bring home as a memento – as well as a pile of muddy clothes and a huge grin.
A typical day will involve fire lighting, trails to buried treasure, campfire songs, smelly potion concoctions, raft building for a crew of jelly babies, wooden stick carving, camp fire cooking, brewing hot chocolate , wild drumming, woodland detective games, shelter building, fireside jam doughnuts, sculptures, clay creature crafting, and so much more.
Children need to bring warm clothes, waterproofs and a nut free packed lunch with them, and they can access toilets and clean drinking water within the main school buildings. Wraparound care is available for parents needing a longer day.
100% of parents and children who have experienced Camp Teepee agreed they would recommend it to their friends. ‘Can’t thank you all enough, the kids haven’t stopped talking about the camp, they loved absolutely everything about it – the face painting, tribe and survival games, cooking on the open fire and the staff who were great fun and thoroughly welcoming’ said one very happy parent!
Camp Teepee will run from 18 – 20 December 2018, from 9am – 4.30pm. £35 per child, per day with wraparound care available. To book, click here
