Local residents are being offered the chance of half price steam train rides at the first Avon Valley Railway Steam Weekend on Saturday 6 & Sunday 7 April.
The heritage railway at Bitton is offering discounted rides for anyone living in a BS or BA postcode. All they’re asking is for visitors to bring some proof of address (utility bill, council tax bill or similar) to take advantage of this special offer.
It’s the first weekend of the running season so why not join the railway for a trip on board one of its steam trains?
Tickets normally cost £8.50 for adults, £7.50 for concessions and £6.50 for children with a family ticket at £25 therefore all these prices will be halved for local residents.
Mark Simmons, the railway’s Commercial & Business Manager, said, “We always enjoy our first steaming days of the year. Our volunteers get the chance to drive our steam engines again after the winter break, and our visitors enjoy a ride too. This year we’re offering locals the chance to travel for half price too so why not come along?”
