“It can be really hard to get started when you want to move forwards with your career or perhaps you’re returning to the workplace after having children,” said Claire Middlehurst, Team Leader at Future Bright. “There is actually lots of free help and training available, but it can be tricky to know where to look for it.
“We decided to run this drop-in so the people can come and chat to several support organisations at one time and get a clearer picture of all the help out there. The team at Bath Library have been really supportive and suggested that a Tuesday could be good day to run a drop-in as it is a time when they often run activities for children.”
Among the Bath residents who have recently benefitted from the services available is Kris, who found that working with Future Bright was a great way to link up with other organisations.
“I went to the library today and got talking to another member of the Future Bright team as well as Bath College and Cool Ventures. I have a webinar booked with Cool Ventures in August to do with finance (hopefully it will help my budgeting) and Bath College is going to contact me about courses (barbering and cooking). Also your Future Bright colleague really helped. Thank you so much for directing me to all this extra support and a big thank you to Future Bright for helping me get out of a rut.”
