Two dance shows to get you moving at The Egg Theatre in Bath this October – including the first energy-harvesting dancefloor in live theatre

Lavaelo and The Place present Is This A Dance? which tours to Bath’s Egg Theatre on Saturday 15th and Sunday 16th October. Recommended for children aged 4 to 11 years, it’s a show for anyone who has ever found joy in moving to music like nobody’s watching.

When you skip down the street or turn on the spot for no reason; when you stamp your feet in rage or throw your arms in the air in joy… have you ever wondered ‘is this a dance’? Join Eva and Lola as they explore this question through playful games.

Audiences can expect energetic movements and abrupt pauses, whales, dinosaurs, turning planets and talking computers in absurd situations, with a bit of contemplation on the side.

Also at The Egg this month is part theatre show, part protest, part energy-generating dance party, Hot In Here, which tours to Bath on Monday 17th and Tuesday 18th October, presented by Pigfoot Theatre.

Developed from conversations with climate activists around the world, Hot In Here uses dance, real-life stories, spoken word and music to celebrate action taking place against climate injustice. The performance, for ages 12 and over, includes the first energy-harvesting dancefloor in live theatre, which converts the collective energy of the performers’ bodies into electricity!

Tickets for both shows are on sale at the Theatre Royal Bath Box Office on 01225 448844, The Egg on 01225 823 409 and online at
