News, events and schools' information for families across Bath and West Wiltshire

After a successful first season where they finished second in the top Division of the Somerset County Women’s League, Bath City Women are holding a Recruitment Day on Sunday 9 July to recruit players for the First and Development Teams for the 2023/24 season.

The announcement comes shortly after the news that founding partner Novia had committed to a further two years support for women’s football at the club. This has enabled a Development Team to be formed with the aim of strengthening the player pathway and supporting the club’s ambitions to grow the game locally for girls and women.

Manager Matt Abreu said, “I couldn’t be more proud of what we’ve achieved in our first season but this is just the start. We want to progress up the pyramid and develop as a real centre of excellence for the women’s game.

“Playing at Twerton Park with the support of the club behind us and Novia’s financial commitment is the best platform we could hope for to realise our ambitions.”

Team Captain Tara Taylor echoed these comments, adding, “This is the best team I’ve been involved with on and off the pitch. Playing at Twerton Park, excellent coaching and a really professional set up has made for a brilliant first season.

“The team spirit is really strong and we’ve had a lot of fun along the way. If you’re thinking about a new challenge and would like to find out more about Bath City Women, then do come along to our recruitment day.”

The day is open to players aged over 16.
