“The kitchen is so often the heart of a family home, which is why I love making sure that they’re as amazing as they can be,” said Mark Welbourn of Welbourn Furniture. And Mark certainly knows what he’s talking about, thanks to his 38 years’ experience designing, planning and supplying kitchens.
“Of course, these days we all have such busy lives, which makes it even more important that a family kitchen meets the needs of a growing family, from dinners together, lunches for everyone and even teenagers sneaking down in when mum and dad are asleep for a midnight snack!”
Mark started out his professional career as a Civil and Building Engineer and moved in to the kitchen arena in the mid-eighties. He has a technical background and has held the positions of Head of Installations at both Smallbone of Devizes and Mark Wilkinson Furniture, before going on to run his own kitchen businesses since 2012.
“There are so many different approaches to planning and buying a new kitchen, but for me the most important factor is to understand exactly what a family needs, as well as appreciating the budget available,” explained Mark. “Sometimes this will mean that the family has a very clear idea of what they want me to achieve for them, while at others it’s a blank sheet of paper.
“As part of the service that I offer, I will come along to the family home and talk through the options, as well as what can reasonably be achieved.
“Alternatively, this could lead on to a more detailed design should the client wish.”
Mark works with several cabinet suppliers and can offer a range of options depending on the style required and the budget available. He could also work alongside a supplier that is nominated by the client.
