News, events and schools' information for families across Bath and West Wiltshire

Inspired to see children’s lives restored following the devastating impact of multiple trauma, Trauma Recovery UK, have launched an aspirational campaign to raise £30,000 to help continue providing support through their specialist Therapy Centres in the UK and Guernsey.

“Children deserve to be given an opportunity to recover from their experiences” says Nicki Rosser, Clinical Lead for the TRC Therapy Centre in Bath. “Sadly, our waiting lists reflect the high need for our specialist support that helps so many courageous families every week who have been through incredibly painful situations.”

Trauma Recovery UK are a Registered Charity and have specialist Trauma Recovery Centres across the UK and in Guernsey. They opened their doors in 2011, starting with their flagship Therapy Centre in Bath.

Motivated to see significant change, their vision is to support people as they piece their lives back together until a wholeness can be found. They have a strong track record of delivering specialist support, with over 1,500 clients being supported and over 20,000 hours of clinical work being provided across their centres!

Trauma Recovery UK refuse to let poverty or low incomes be a barrier to entry for their specialist support and work hard to fundraise to enable access for all. On average session costs are subsidised by around 50% and so they are asking the public to partner with them to help fund future families in need.

They are asking if anyone is able to donate or fundraise towards their campaign and take part in a 5k – using wheels, tracks, their hands or feet, any mode of transport!

“We hope that people are inspired to join with us in this exciting campaign that will directly support so many people in our local area! People can run, skip, jump, sail, swim, scoot, cycle or any other way of completing 5k! This is an inclusive campaign which we hope will unite people in the joint mission of seeing lives restored” says Heather Brown, Operations Manager.

£30,000 will help Trauma Recovery UK pay for:

  • Ongoing subsidised therapy sessions for children and young people aged 3-25
  • Therapeutic parenting support for parents/carers of those under 16 years
  • Craft, toys, and resources used in creative therapy sessions
  • Their dedicated therapy staff team who are inspired and motivated to see children and young people recover!
  • Their brilliant admin team who work hard to support the projects
