News, events and schools' information for families across Bath and West Wiltshire

Kingsbury Green Academy in Calne, part of the Ascend Learning Trust, is celebrating another excellent set of A-Level results. In a challenging year, which has seen a massive drop nationally in top A* and A grades, Kingsbury Green Academy students have done themselves proud and can look forward to studying at some of the best universities in the country, including Bath, Liverpool and Exeter.

Mr Tudor, Principal, said, “I am incredibly proud of all KGA students for their efforts and diligence in preparing for this year’s exams. Many people will have forgotten that this is the first time these students have sat high stakes external exams, following the cancellation of GCSE exams two years ago due to COVID. This made preparing for these A level exams even more challenging than it would be in a so-called normal year.

“Despite this, our students showed their resilience, talent and ability in securing some outstanding grades. They have proven once again that KGA Sixth Form is the number one Sixth Form of choice in the area for good reason.

“I would like to thank the KGA staff. Their hard work, unwavering support and outstanding teaching, ensure that our students receive the very best education possible. Calne should be incredibly proud to have such a dedicated team working so hard for the young people of this area.

“Whether our students are going on to university or taking other pathways, such as higher-level apprenticeships, we are incredibly proud of them all. Congratulations to all KGA students and I am certain you will see many families celebrating around Calne over the next day or so!”
