News, events and schools' information for families across Bath and West Wiltshire

The Athenaeum Centre in Warminster has played host to a dazzling Showcase from the young pupils of Springmead School and Nursery. The heart-warming display featured a fine array of performing arts acts, ranging from humorous poetry and musical delights to gravity-defying gymnasts, dance recitals, and dramatised scenes.

Some students from the Frome-based preparatory school performed solo whilst others took to the stage in groups. The school prioritises working with both small and local businesses, commissioning David Wiltshire Photography to capture enchanting images of the performances.

An independent co-education school with 120 pupils from nursery age to Year Six, Springmead School takes pride in encouraging its students to pursue the talents, skills, and hobbies that bring them joy. It is through Showcase events such as this that Springmead School can continue to do so, ensuring that each child’s passions are nurtured and their interests are supported.

Attended by a sell-out crowd of 200 parents, carers, teachers and friends, the Showcase also gave students the opportunity to foster collaborative dynamics outside the classroom and receive well-earned recognition and acclaim for their dedication and hard work.

Sally Cox, Headteacher, commented, “Events such as this are a true collaboration. Our fabulous student Showcase is made a reality by the gargantuan efforts of staff, teachers and parents, and it offers our community a beautiful window into the promising talents of the next generation.

“It was moving to see such young children sharing their dedicated practice and passion in both individual and group performances. As well as being a rewarding experience for each of the pupils, the Showcase is a brilliant way to build confidence and presentation skills in a supportive environment.”
