News, events and schools' information for families across Bath and West Wiltshire

Wiltshire Council will be supporting Number Confidence Week, the UK’s national week dedicated to reframing the way that people think about and use numbers.

Taking place between 6-10 November, alongside the charity National Numeracy, the idea is to raise awareness of the importance of numbers in everyday life and to help children and adults feel confident about numbers at home, work and school.

As well as a host of free online resources and videos including inspirational stories and practical advice from real life learners and celebrities – https://www.nationalnumeracy.org.uk/numberconfidenceweek/resources-individuals -council staff will be running activities across the county to talk about support available.

The Multiply team will be at Melksham Community Campus on Wednesday 8 November from 10am-1pm with Family and Community Learning, Wiltshire College and University centre, Skills Ladder and Chippenham Hub to offer advice about the Multiply scheme and how to access support in Wiltshire.

They will also be in the Atrium at County Hall in Trowbridge on Friday 10 November from 10am-1pm with Family and Community Learning, Wiltshire College and University centre, Wiltshire Wildlife, Building Bridges and Wiltshire Citizen Advice, offering the same support and advice.

One recent Multiply programme learners said, “These sessions have made me much more positive about maths.”

Another added, “The training motivates me to give it a try despite maybe having low confidence.”
