News, events and schools' information for families across Bath and West Wiltshire

Has your child ever struggled with times of change, such as moving schools or a family bereavement?

Local youth charity Mentoring Plus invites you to join their experienced youth practitioners for an in-person workshop on the theme of change. Learn how to help your children acknowledge and understand their feelings, and how you can be a safe space for them.

Together with Mentoring Plus’ Head of Practice, Helen Goodchild, and Senior Practitioner, Lou Welch, the event will explore:

  • The behaviours that reveal a young person is struggling.
  • The ‘big’ transitions in education and what they are like for young people.
  • How to address practical vs emotional issues.
  • How to make times of change more bearable.

Guests will also hear from Donna Oakes, Dorothy House Family Support Team, who will share insights into how to support young people with bereavement.
