St Nicholas Primary School in Radstock, part of Bath and Wells Multi Academy Trust, is proud to announce its recent achievement in being awarded Apprentice Employee of the Month. This recognition is a testament to the school’s unwavering commitment to providing the best possible educational experience for their children, as well as their dedication to supporting and nurturing their staff.
The school was specifically acknowledged for its exceptional work in taking on its first Teaching Assistant Apprentice. Amelie Fletcher, the Apprentice Teaching Assistant, said, “‘Since starting St Nicholas I have enjoyed every single day. I have felt so welcome and comfortable with everyone being so kind and helpful.
“I have only been there one term and I already have so much knowledge on what I’m there to do. I found it very easy to settle in and learnt from other staff members very quickly. If I were ever to need any help I know I can ask any member of staff as they are all so helpful.'”
Co-Head Of School, Kirsty Biss, expressed her delight in appointing Amelie, highlighting the seamless process of working with Somerset Skills and Learning (SS&L) and the thorough training provided for apprentices.
“If other schools are looking to fill a TA vacancy, I would highly recommend working with SS&L and we are delighted to have welcomed Amelie to our school team,” she said. “She has settled into school life and is working in many year groups across the school to allow her to gain experience.”
