Now, Next & Then in Bath is excited to be expanding its team to be able to help even more children, young people and their families in our local area.
Now, Next & Then offers quality support to young people and children across the South West with additional challenges in mainstream and independent school settings, as well as those who are out of school.
The team has recently welcomed Laura and Lara as its newest members to further broaden the range of expertise and support it offers.
Laura is the Now, Next & Then Child & Adolescent Mental Health Occupational Therapist. Laura feels passionately about helping young people to understand themselves better and supports them to work out their own solutions to challenges, so that lasting changes are brought about in the present and for their futures too.
Among the parents and carers Laura has already helped, one recently said, “Laura will always be very special to our family and we will always be in her debt for all she is doing. Our daughter now has a bright future in front of her.”
Lara, meanwhile, has joined the team specialising in Autism Advocacy & Support. Lara has stepped away from her role as a Speech &Language Therapist to follow her passion for helping Autistic children and young people as they navigate daily life. She helps young people be affirmative of their differences and works hard to ensure the rest of us learn how to adapt to make life easier and less stressful.
One young person she works with said, “Lara is helping me to understand my Autism and my anxiety relating to Autism. She is teaching me the strategies that help.”
Emma Puttock, who runs Now, Next & Then, has been on a mission to help children and their families since launching the company in 2021. As a Children’s Occupational Therapist herself, she knows how much pressure is on statutory services and acknowledges that children are understandably slipping through the net as a result.
Emma is determined that her team can step in as soon as help is asked for so that no one who needs help is unsupported. By expanding the team again, to now include mental health support, the scope for helping those with additional challenges has been significantly broadened.
“We all really, genuinely, do our best to make a difference to the daily experiences of the children and young people we support,” said Emma. “We know that the formative years of childhood and adolescence will steer future directions and confidences. For those with any form of additional challenge, barriers may exist that need quality and timely outside help to overcome. That’s why we are here.”
