News, events and schools' information for families across Bath and West Wiltshire

A local charity, Your Park Bristol & Bath, is calling for Bath residents to come together and help them improve their much-loved Brickfields Park in Twerton.

The charity is hosting social gardening sessions for all ages and backgrounds on the first Sunday of each month. No experience is necessary and all equipment is provided. The charity’s Park Activator, Mali, will be on-hand to show you the ropes.

“We want to support people who may be struggling since the pandemic,” said Ann, Project Outreach Officer at Your Park. “Being outside has such a feel-good factor. This is a great chance to meet new people and make friends. We are more than happy to create bespoke sessions with families or groups – if you are interested we would love to hear from you!”

This project will complement Bath’s Clean Air Zone with nature-based climate solutions. The charity is planting over 500 trees, in partnership with Bath & North East Somerset Council which could offset over 10,000 tonnes of carbon over the trees’ lifetime.

The work in Brickfields is funded by the community; any donations towards the project would be gratefully received.

If you are interested in joining a session you can visit www.yourpark.org.uk to register or email email hidden; JavaScript is required. If gardening is not your thing, they are also hosting a free park yoga session on 4 November.
