The return of Bradford on Avon’s Christmas Lights Switch-On event on will take place on Friday 29 November in Westbury Garden.
To help get visitors into the festive spirit there will be a night of Christmas fun and excitement, with live music, fairground, Santa’s grotto, a gift fair and more. his year, the lights will be switched on by the town’s Mayor, Councillor, Jack Vittles, at 6pm.
“We want to invite everyone to our favourite event of the year – our Christmas Lights Switch On,” a spokesperson for the town council said.
“This year’s event would not be possible without our sponsors Ravello, River Spice, BLB Solicitors and Smarty Dry Cleaning.”
The evening will include –
- A festive line up performing in Westbury Garden, headlined by the one of UK’s premiere Motown acts, SoulTown Collective.
- There will also be the traditional Christmas tree in Westbury Garden sponsored by Bradford on Avon Lions Club, as well as decorated trees at the Tithe Barn (sponsored by the Bradford on Avon Preservation Trust) outside the train station (sponsored by Great Western Railway) and the Giving Tree in Lamb Yard.
- In St Margaret’s Hall, you’ll find over 25 local artisans offering festive gifts at our Christmas fair from 4pm to 8pm.
- Jenkins Amusements will have fairground rides set up in St Margaret’s car park alongside plenty of delicious seasonal food & drink vendors.
- The Tourist Information Centre will also be open until 8pm for you to purchase your Cards for Good Causes Christmas cards.
- The local Rotary Club has also spoken to Father Christmas and his elves – and he’ll be setting up his grotto in the Bullpit from 5pm on the night.
- Plus, if you head into Lamb Yard, you’ll find more live music and the Giving Tree – celebrating 10 years of festive generosity – as well as a whole host of artisan stalls.
