October half term sees the visit of very different dance companies to the egg theatre.
Sonia Sabri Company presents Same Same… But Different, a powerhouse of dance theatre for all the family. Three dancer musicians mix Kathak and contemporary dance, live music and physical storytelling, to create a playful and colourful world, exploring curiosities and fears, the times we feel different, and where we belong. (27 & 28 October, ages 5+).
Let’s All Dance return to the egg with its new ballet, Alice In Wonderland. Stunning dancing, much loved characters and super costumes bring the famous tale to life in this magical ballet production from one of the egg’s most popular companies. Ideal for children of all ages, with photo opportunity with the dancers after every show! (29 & 30 October).
At the end of half term week, La Baracca, one of Italy’s most acclaimed companies return to the egg with Upside Down. (31 October – 3 November)
In a beautiful production that quite literally breathes life into drawings on paper, Upside Down tells the story of two characters brought together by a missing cat. What happens when two people who have previously lived in separate spaces are forced together for a common purpose? Perspective and outlooks are turned upside down as the two strangers figure out how to share a space.
La Baracca’s previous visits to the egg have included Little Red Riding Hood, Spot and Home.
Tickets for all productions are on sale from the egg reception on 01225 823409, the Theatre Royal Box Office on 01225 448844 and online at www.theatreroyal.org.uk
