Little Voices is opening a new centre at Twerton Village Hall in Bath, providing singing and acting lessons for children aged four to 12 year olds, with a maximum of eight pupils in each group. The new centre joins other Little Voices venues in Corsham and Westbury.
“I’m so pleased to be able to offer lessons from this wonderful new venue on the edge of Bath,” said Little Voices owners, Lorraine Mahoney. “This will give us the opportunity to work with children, from complete beginners and above, on scenes of musical theatre for LAMDA Examinations, using material from shows such as Matilda, Annie and Shrek.”
Lorraine added that the Bath lessons will take place on Wednesdays from 4 November, with lessons running from 4.15-4.45pm for Mini Voices aged 4-7 years, then 5-5.45pm and 6-6.45pm for Little Voice aged 8-12 years. The lessons cost £44.75 for Mini Voices and £62.25 for Little Voices per calendar month.
“The fees include a hoodie, polo shirt, exam running day costs and exam fee, with lessons taking place over 39 weeks each year,” explained Lorraine. “Each lesson has a maximum of eight pupils so that we can make sure that no one gets lost in the crowd or overlooked. With the lessons alternating each week between singing and drama, we also aim to help the children taking part with confidence, life skills, communication skills, creativity, imaginations, friendships and most of all, to have fun. The pupils will also work towards one LAMDA exam each year.”
The new venue in Bath will run alongside Little Voices lessons in Corsham and Westbury. While the Corsham sessions take place on Tuesdays and Thursdays at The Pound Arts Centre, the Westbury ones take place at Leigh Park Community Centre on Wednesdays.
