The Royal High School Bath is thrilled to have started off the new term by launching its annual Festival of Ideas, with the whole school community coming together to explore a theme. This year’s focus is on ‘Health Matters’ posing an all-important question, ‘What should we do to improve our health?’
For the last two weeks, students have had an opportunity to gain inspiration from a range of speakers and take part in an exciting programme of cross curricular activities organised by teaching staff.
The speakers have explored subjects such as ‘Anatomy vs AI’, ‘How to stop another pandemic’ and ‘The power of a smile’. Dr Bhatia, a GP and Holistic Wellbeing Consultant, talked to Royal High students about ‘Health is about the whole of you’. She also set students a well-being challenge and asked teams to connect, discuss and learn about wellbeing themes that bring out our best; to consider and think about the science and art behind it; and finally, to share and inspire others with their ideas.
The ideas of each group were presented during an Ideas Fair last week where students produced a display to engage with their audience and empower them with easy ways to bring out the best in their day-to-day life.
“We have been really impressed by the level of creativity and innovation demonstrated by our students during Festival of Ideas and are proud to provide a platform where their initiatives can contribute to their overall learning experience,” said Hadrian Briggs, Deputy Head Academic. “Over the last two weeks, we have had the pleasure of hosting inspiring speakers who have fuelled our students’ interest and imaginative ideas in health and wellbeing.”
