Paintings from professional and budding artists went under the hammer at a special networking event held at Kingswood School in Bath to raise money for Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW).
Artwork by students at the school was exhibited on the evening alongside pieces by watercolour artist David Graham. David, who has been supporting CHSW since 2014, donated eight pieces of his work for the auction.
Also included in the auction were paintings by brother and sister Alex and William Tuckwell (pictured above) who are supported by CHSW at Charlton Farm children’s hospice in Wraxall.
Auctioneer on the night was Neal Wood of Hamptons in Bath.
The auction and raffle raised £850 for CHSW which could fund a nurse for a week at Charlton Farm.
Members of Charlton Farm’s Sibling Team also attended the event, speaking of the importance of art to families using the hospice. They shared how it is used to understand how brothers and sisters of young people or children with life-limiting or life-threatening conditions are feeling and to support them on the journey.
CHSW Young Ambassadors of Kingswood School helped at the evening ahead of embarking on activities to further raise awareness in the B&NES and West Wiltshire area of the charity through their team activities.
CHSW Area Fundraiser for B&NES and West Wiltshire Heidi Roberts, said, “It was wonderful to work with Kingswood School on this special event and to see all the care in the community for our cause on the evening.
“A big thank you goes to Unividual for supporting the event and to all the wonderful artists who exhibited their work on the evening. The room was full of fun and laughter like we experience in our hospices.”
