News, events and schools' information for families across Bath and West Wiltshire

After an amazing 2016-17 footballing year, St Peter’s C of E Academy in Chippenham finished as Wiltshire Large School Champions, South West finalists and Chippenham Town winners.

“We were looking forward to the new academic year and hoping for future success,” explained Yr 6 team player Will. “We started the year with the fantastic news that we had won a brand new football kit from Premier League Primary Stars, courtesy of a parent entering us in the competition.”

The new look team of George C, Daniel F, Luke W, Alex D, William H, Callum D, Guy G, Eli S, Ted R and Bradley W proudly wore the new school team kit as they won the Small Schools Level 2 football Tournament at Stanley Park in November. They now go on to compete in the play-offs hoping for a chance to compete at the Level 3 County Finals 2018.

Callum from Year 6 added, “We train every Thursday and work to be the best we can be. Some of our team play football outside of school but we have all benefited from the extra coaching. We really enjoyed the experience and it was fantastic to be winners and felt proud to represent our school.”
