A new video for families and carers with a child with an additional need, a special educational need or disability, has been launched by the Live Well team at B&NES.

The video is designed to explain what a ‘SEND Local Offer’ is and what support and information it offers to parents and carers. It features a young man and a young boy (and his Mum), both of whom live in B&NES and have additional needs.

The SEND Local Offer website also offers information for parents and carers of children 0-5 years, 5-11 years, 11-14 and 14-25 years, as well as information to support children and young people and their parent carers throughout their autism journey. This includes pre-diagnosis, information around EHCPs and ongoing support for autistic children and young people.

The website also offers details of the Rainbow Resource Scheme card which is available to all children and young people aged between 0-25 years, with a Special Educational Need and/ or Disability (SEND) or an additional need, living across Bath and North East Somerset, which entitles the holder to can entitle to access an existing concession on offer at venues across B&NES and the wider area. It will also provide discreet recognition if you find yourself needing support from staff at the attraction or venue.
