News, events and schools' information for families across Bath and West Wiltshire

Eight framed wildflower paintings created by children in The Paragon‘s Year 2 in Art lessons are currently on display in the RUH Artsparks corridor (B9). They look beautiful and really cheer up the walls in the hospital. The artworks were created by Annie, Sebastian, Lottie, Felicity, George, Constanze, Jack and William, in the style of the British artist Philip Sutton.

Miss Alex Hucks, Head of Art at the school, said, “The pupils are very proud to see their artwork in a gallery environment – how wonderful to know that they can make a difference to somebody’s day. Well done to all of Year 2 as the paintings this year were of such a high standard.”

Tony Smith, Exhibition Manager at Art at the Heart of the RUH, added, “The wildflower paintings are fantastic and bright; colourful pictures of nature are particularly beneficial and we have already received some lovely feedback about them. The RUH is very grateful for the donation of these paintings, they help to enhance the hospital environment and improve patient experience.”

Prints of the paintings in various sizes are available to buy from the hospital as part of their ‘Art at the Heart’ project which donates a third of all profits from sales to the RUH. All enquiries should be directed to: email hidden; JavaScript is required or 01225 824987
