News, events and schools' information for families across Bath and West Wiltshire

Congratulations to Royal High School Bath’s U14 Hockey team who won the Plate competition at the Girls’ Day Schools Trust (GDST)’s Festival of Hockey.

It was a fantastic three days of hockey hosted by Newcastle High School for Girls, which saw over 250 students from 12 GDST schools competing in a Cup, Trophy and Plate competition, and meeting likeminded students with a shared passion for hockey.

Miss Stewart, PE Teacher at Royal High School Bath, said, “We are fortunate to be part of The Girls Day School Trust and to be able to make the most of coming together for events like this. The standard of hockey and skills on show were fantastic and the camaraderie between the schools was clear to see – a massive thank you to Norwich, Streatham and Clapham, Sheffield, Shrewsbury, and Nottingham for lending us a GK throughout the weekend.

“We are proud of our U14s who did a brilliant job of representing Royal High School Bath on and off the pitch. Their teamwork, attitude and etiquette across the weekend was fantastic to see, and we hope that the girls have made some lifelong memories and everlasting friendships. We are already looking forward to next year’s U14 Trust Rally and Newcastle’s fantastic hospitality.”
