A modern look at the last century of dancing from Dorothy Coleborn School of Dance is being celebrated in the production Snapshot, with over 400 children perform dances selected from shows spanning the past 100 years.

Kicking off with six performances at Hayesfield School, Snapshot will culminate in two almost sold out shows at the Theatre Royal, Bath.

Containing dances from the 1920s through to modern day, cleverly intertwined with current choreography, there is something for every generation.

From tap to ballet, hip hop to contemporary and pointe to jazz, and with children aged between three and 18, this show is packed with energy and joy and is sure to get every foot tapping.

Annette Hind, Principal of Dorothy Coleborn School of Dance, said, “The pandemic took so much away from children. This is our chance to come together to celebrate not only our dance school’s 100 anniversary, but perhaps more importantly to pay homage to our students’ resilience, talent and love of dance.”

The dance school was originally founded by Annette’s grandmother, Dorothy in 1924 and since its origin, has produced West End stars, award-winning choreographers and professional dancers now scattered across the world.

From dozens of Royal Ballet students to Billy Elliots, a Tony Award Winner (Leanne Cope), a principal dancer in the world-renowned Martha Graham Company (Laurel Dalley Smith) and stars of stage and screen, the school has clearly found a recipe for unprecedented success.
