Lee Browne and his young family enjoy a return visit to The Egg Theatre
With the days getting colder, it’s nice to plan a few indoor activities for younger children. Going to The Egg Theatre in Bath is one of the favourites places for our two and half year old years old girl and our one year old little boy. Our latest visit was to enjoy Early Waves, a wonderful tale of friendship, music and dance!
We arrived a few minutes before the show started and the lovely staff showed us where to park our buggy. We had time for a quick coffee from the café while our daughter explored the hall and her little brother was getting ready from his morning nap.
When we were called in for the start of the show, everyone went up the stairs to the auditorium on the first floor, with an elevator on hand in case you need it. The auditorium is cosy and we could sit anywhere, with beans bags on the floor meaning that the little ones could get right up close to the actors.
Early Waves tells the story of two people who meet and build trust with each other while exploring different emotions and experiences. During the show, the cast invites the audience to play and laugh with them, with everyone from little ones to adults taking part. It was so nice to hear the laugh of my little girl throughout the show.
The show even included a few minutes of playtime, with younger members of the audience having the chance to touch and feel the scenery, while also talking and laughing with the amazing actors. What a great experience!
We always enjoy our visits to The Egg Theatre and would absolutely recommend it everyone, with a wonderful variety of shows on offer for different age groups. Early Waves was definitely one of our favourites, we all had a wonderful morning and our little girl went to bed talking about the show!
