Children in Frogs class at Little Willows Nursery in Bath have been been enjoying their new dinosaurs theme for the month, with plenty of opportunities for learning based play.

“Using the dinosaur play area has been a great way to really engage the children through a range of different activities,’ explained nursery manager Sally Sutton. “We made our very own Brachiosaurus using paint, sponge rollers and paint brushes to go on our display in the nursery. We also got very creative with paint, syringes, glitter, pots, egg cartons and glue to create our very own volcanoes. Then at the end of the session, there was time to read ‘Ten Minutes To Bed Little Dinosaur together.

“The children in Frogs are always fascinated when exploring the dinosaurs. Young children are natural scientists, and exploring the word of the dinosaurs not only opens their imagination, but it also fires their curiosity, which encourages them towards analytical thinking, stimulating questions, observing the world around them and imaginative play.”
