News, events and schools' information for families across Bath and West Wiltshire

Children from Little Willows Day Nursery in Bath recently took part in a tree planting ceremony to commemorate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee. The event was planned in conjunction with The Royal Commonwealth Society Bath and District Branch, with the Deputy Mayor of Bath, Michelle O’Doherty, having the honour of planting the tree, which was supplied by Prior Park Garden Centre.

“It was a great occasion for the children to be part of and for them to learn a little bit more about the Platinum Jubilee,” said Little Willows owner Steve Ojomoh. “Outdoor play and forest school is a hugely important part of the children’s learning at Little Willows, so not only will this new tree mark an important historical occasion, it will add to the nursery’s outside space and give the children something that they can help to look after and watch grow.

“Who knows, perhaps in years to come, they might visit us to see how the tree that they helped to plant is growing!”
