News, events and schools' information for families across Bath and West Wiltshire

Arin Shetty, a pupil in Year 6 at Castle Mead School in Trowbridge, has published his second book, AcornMan: Keneko’s plan, which is available to buy from Amazon in Kindle, hardcover and paperback versions.

Speaking to BBC Radio Wiltshire, Arin said, “I like that people are reading [the book], and it’s quite inspiring so other people can start doing it. I’ve already got so many plans for another book but I’m not going to start writing it for a month or two.”

Mrs Emma Larkham, Headteacher at Castle Mead School, said of Arin, “It is such an amazing achievement and has been widely recognised. Nine children in Arin’s class are writing books at home now as a direct result of this!”

Castle Mead School is part of a multi academy trust with schools in Trowbridge and Melksham. Mrs Lyssy Bolton, CEO of the Trust, commented, “Arin represents the school and the reading culture at Castle Mead so very well. Thank you to all of the staff at school for inspiring his confidence to write and his motivation to give back to the school community.”

Arin has said that any profits he makes from the sale of his book will be donated to the school so that they can buy more books. If you would like to buy a copy, you can get one here
