News, events and schools' information for families across Bath and West Wiltshire

2022 is an exciting year for Hayesfield Girls’ School. As the biggest educator of girls in Bath, the school is preparing to celebrate 100 years of girls’ education on its Upper Oldfield Park Campus.

“In 1922 City of Bath Girls’ School opened on the Upper Oldfield Park site led by the first Headteacher, Miss Thatcher,” explains Assistant Head, Catherine Trueman. “The school grew and flourished over the next 50 years until it became Hayesfield Girls’ School in 1973, when it merged with West Twerton Secondary Modern. Since that time, the school has grown even further in size, popularity and success.

“We are taking the opportunity to celebrate the generations of young women who have passed through its doors over the decades and on Wednesday 6 July we will be holding our Centenary Celebration. We would love any alumni to join us on the evening from 5.30pm for a range of choral, musical, dramatic and dance performances, food, tours of the buildings and exhibitions celebrating our history. Come and share your memories. More details available at www.hayesfield.com , including how to book a tour on the day .

“We are also building a school archive so if you have any photos/ memories or artefacts you’d like to share please email us at email hidden; JavaScript is required  or message us on Facebook or Twitter and we’d love to hear from you.”
