St Margaret’s Prep Calne was delighted to open its doors once again to parents and wider family members for the annual prize-giving event.
It was a great opportunity for families to tour the school and see the wonderful work that their children have produced throughout the year. Steve Brown, Paralympian and TV Presenter, then presented this year’s prizes, while also sharing his story with the children and their parents, and telling them to never give up on their dreams and the importance of self-belief.
Steve then presented prizes to children throughout the school for their superb efforts this year, as well as the ‘Headmaster’s Commendations’ to the Year 6 Leavers, which recognised each of their individual contributions to the school. A new prize was launched this year,The Calne Foundation Trust Cup, sponsored by Lady Lansdowne, which acknowledges the philanthropic efforts of pupils across the school. Congratulations to Frank Pallot, the first recipient of this prize, who was inspired by Captain Tom Moore to take on a challenge and ‘Swim Everest’, the distance between base camp and the summit!
