Future Bright offers FREE career coaching, with access to training and support to help you develop the skills and confidence you need to take your next step. Here’s how they helped a local mum embrace a new career

Rebecca decided to contact Future Bright because she wanted a new career challenge. She had enjoyed working as a teaching assistant at her children’s school and, as it was within school hours, the role had fit well around caring for her own children. However, after several years, she felt that it was time for change. Before having children, Rebecca had had a successful career in marketing and she wanted to re-engage with her creativity and business skills, and possibly start working for herself.

Rebecca started to work with Future Bright Career Coach, Andrew. Together they researched courses linked to the creative arts and business development, and Rebecca chose the ones which felt most useful to her. After testing the water with some free online courses, Rebecca felt that a printmaking business would be a perfect fit and Andrew helped her to secure funding for two printmaking courses at Bath College.

Reflecting on her time working with Future Bright, Rebecca recalls, “I have become much more confident and I rediscovered a more creative way of thinking. I have started a new job as marketing assistant and copywriter for an art curator in Bath. I really love the work and I am certain it will tie in with my future plans.

“I will continue to do the printmaking course, and my sister and I are planning to start our own printmaking business in the future. We are looking to meet with some local printers to work out what studio equipment we will need to start out and I am confident that my marketing background will enable us to market our business successfully too.

“I really appreciate the hard work that Andrew has put in to help me; he has been very proactive at every step. Future Bright have not only helped me get onto a new career path, but they have helped my confidence and wellbeing. I feel more fulfilled as a result of my engagement with Future Bright.”
