News, events and schools' information for families across Bath and West Wiltshire

The Rock Project Bath is launching its first ever summer school, offering students aged 7-11 years the chance to learn classic rock and pop songs, rehearse together as a band, and put on a gig at the end of the week.

After a hugely successful launch in Bristol last year, the five day summer school has now come to Bath and will run from Monday 7th August to Friday 11th August, 9am-4pm at Beechen Cliff School.

Over the course of the five-days, the students will get the opportunity to learn and play electric guitar, drums, bass guitar and singing, with The Rock Project’s amazing team of tutors, and will be able to rock out at the end-of-Summer School gig on ALL instruments!

Each day will include lessons on an instrument in small groups of no more than five children, band rehearsals that bring all the kids together to make some noise, as well as plenty of fun and games. With no previous musical experience necessary for the students taking part, this Summer School is perfect for getting any budding rock stars performing on stage and learning music.  And with a mixture of new students and The Rock Project veterans, it’s a great opportunity to see what the music school is all about and experience the lively and engaging sessions.

The Rock Project Bath’s Danny White explained, “I spent many summers of my youth at home with my guitar trying to play along with songs on the radio, wishing I had a band to rock out with! This year my team and I get to make that a reality for the young people of Bath.”

The five-day Summer School costs £250 and you can sign up now with just a £50 deposit at https://trpwiltshire.onlineweb.shop/product/summer-school-7-11th-august-2023
