For the first time ever, The Rock Project School of Rock and Pop is hosting an online virtual concert to share its students’ achievements during the past year of online teaching.
The Rock Project offers children the opportunity to learn electric guitar, bass guitar, drums and vocals, as well as experience playing together as a band, under the supervision of professional musicians and instrumental tutors.
Sessions would normally be run weekly, after school, in Bath, Trowbridge and Chippenham, where students learn their chosen instrument, play together as a band, and work towards concerts and community performances. Students are split into juniors and seniors where they learn a variety of pop and rock songs to cater for all tastes and abilities. However, as a result of the lockdown, for the past year the sessions have been taking place online.
“We are so pleased that we can host a virtual concert this Easter, we wanted to have something that our students can show for our year of online teaching,” said Mike Aris, organiser of The Rock Project.
“It’s been a learning curve for all of us, but our students have managed to do individual home recordings which we have edited into virtual bands for the performance. Our students, parents and tutors have all been amazing over the past year, and we are so excited to share their achievements.”
The Rock Project Virtual Easter Gig will be premiering on YouTube on Thursday 1 April at 7pm. Head to The Rock Project Bath-Trow-Chip YouTube channel and hit SUBSCRIBE so you don’t miss it!
