News, events and schools' information for families across Bath and West Wiltshire

Children from First Steps nursery have been enjoying weekly visits to Cleve Court in Bath, a health and care provider for older adults. The residents at the home, many of whom live with dementia, look forward to the visits, allowing them to interact, play and chat with the four year olds, as well as enjoying a snack together

For the children, the 45 minute visits offer an opportunity to experience intergenerational learning, where the generations work together to gain skills, values, and knowledge. “Intergenerational learning is an important part of lifelong learning,” said Cathy, the Senior Early Years Teacher at First Steps.

“The children gain confidence in a new environment and enjoy interaction with different people of all ages. They are excited for their weekly visits. We thank the residents at Cleeve Court who invited us to their home.”
