The Bath Spartan Dodgeball Club Under 16 Junior team recently entered its first British Open competition at the Derby Arena, with coach James robinson describing their performance as “Brilliant.”

“After one defeat, two draws and one win, we placed fifth in the rankings,” explained James. “Each of the matches were very close and the standard in the competition was very high.”

The Bath team comprised of Sol, Josh, Jules, Gabriel, Evan, Finn, Jamie, all aged between 12 and 15.

James asked the team to nominate their player of the day and the award went to the team’s Captain for the day, Sol. “Sol led his team like a true captain should, offering encouragement, making excellent hits and orchestrating the tactics throughout the day. Very well done Sol.”

“The coach’s player of the day has given me a real headache. Every one of the players should be very proud of themselves but one shining light of the tournament was Jamie. Jamie was the second youngest in the team but you wouldn’t know it after watching some of the big hits he put in. Well done Jamie. I am so proud of the boys and can’t wait to get them to the next tournament.”
